The Counting House, also known as the Coinhouse, is an old mercantile establishment started by a conglomerate of old merchant families from Xarth. The function of the Coinhouse is similar to that of a bank, although that is not their only mercantile interest. They offer storage of wealth, loans, safe transit of resources and goods. As such, the Counting House operates branches in Orvain and Cordonis. It is thought that Elphindale is currently too small to support a branch of the Counting House.
The Kilian Network is their closest rival, having moved their Great Tree from Xarth to Cordonis in the distant past. Both organisations keep a close watch on each other’s economic and political machinations.
